ALMOST £6,600 was raised at this year’s 10th Chiltern Vintage Tractor Run. The charity event in May involved a parade of tractors travelling through the countryside, starting and finishing in Fingest. It began with Rev Sue Morton, curate of the Hambleden Valley group of churches, blessing the tractors before they made their way through the Chilterns, past the Wormsley Estate and on to Stokenchurch. The drivers and their passengers in trailers arrived for lunch at Wycombe Air Park where a raffle raised almost £2,000. The run is in aid of the Thames Valley Air Ambulance and has now raised £34,395 in 10 years. Organiser Gary Anderson thanked volunteers, landowners, technical crew and venue hosts as well as the drivers, their families and sponsors. Next year’s run will take place on Sunday, May 21.
