A tennis tournament and coffee morning at Caversham Lawn Tennis Club raised £560. About 30 members took part and enjoyed home-made cakes and refreshments in-between matches, which were supervised by a professional coach from Gary Drake Tennis. There was also a raffle with prizes including a meal at L’Ortolan in Shinfield, which is owned by the club’s chairman Peter Newman. The event was organised by member Sue Gold, a GP at Sonning Common Health Centre. She said: “It was a great success. We had a good mix of players and were really lucky to have great weather. Everyone enjoyed it.”
