Rio golf ball raises £10k for charity

AN Olympic-themed ball at Henley Golf Club raised more than £10,000 for charity.

AN Olympic-themed ball at Henley Golf Club raised more than £10,000 for charity.

The evening was hosted by the club’s ladies’ captain Sally Woolven and club captain Roger Hudson.

Their chosen charity is Sport in Mind, which helps people with mental health issues to participate fully in society through their involvement in sport.

The ball was a sellout with 226 members and guests attending, many dressed in bright colours.

The meal was provided by Emily Rait in a marquee erected by Lulu’s and there was live music from Million Dollar Bash and Brazilian-style dancers.

Mrs Woolven said: “Everyone enjoyed a wonderful evening, which celebrated the success of our Rio Olympians while at the same time raising money for our charity.”
