Now Parkinsons man plans to row the Pacific Ocean

A MAN with Parkinson’s is getting ready to row 2,500 miles in aid of research into the disease.

Alex Flynn hopes to raise £500,000 by competing in the New Ocean Wave Great Pacific Race in the summer.

Neither Mr Flynn, from Goring, nor his rowing partner Darren Taylor have rowed before.

The pair, both 41, will set off from Monterey in California on June 7 and head for Honolulu in Hawaii in a two-man boat.

It will be Mr Flynn’s first new challenge after completing his bid to travel 10 million metres for Parkinson’s research.
