Youth club makeover

HENLEY Youth Centre is closed for refurbishment.

The centre in Deanfield Avenue is using a £3,000 donation from the Rotary Club of Henley Bridge to convert its internet café into a new counselling room. Other rooms may be re-organised and members will discuss a name change.

The café will remain open during the day for the duration of the work.

Trustee Elizabeth Hodgkin said: “We are closed for youth clubs in the evening for the whole of January. With our youth leader Steve Curran leaving, we thought it was a good time to do the work. It’s a good chance to take stock and sort everything out.”

The centre will re-open on Thursday, February 6.
