Help service on the move with new £46,000 minibus

A HELP service in Sonning Common is moving premises after 32 years.

The Fish volunteer centre, which is currently based at the village hall, will operate from the old doctors’ surgery at the junction of Kennylands Road and Wood Lane from March 17.

The move comes after the charity bought a £46,000 minbus that will be used to provide day trips for vulnerable residents.

Chairman Fred Nickson said it signalled the growth of the charity, which has been running for 35 years.

He said: “The current office is too small and we’ve outgrown it. The community has doubled in size in that time and so has our role.
