Bone marrow transplant sisters run half marathon

IT was a family affair for one set of the runners from the Henley area taking part in the 31st Reading Half Marathon.

Vanessa Hearn, who co-founded Loddon Brewery in Dunsden Green, was among the 16,500 runners who completed the 13-mile race on Sunday.

She crossed the finish line in two hours and 15 minutes side-by-side with her sisters Deb Clements and Julia Markham and niece Victoria Hillier.

The quartet, who named themselves The Lymphomaniacs, were raising money for blood cancer charity Anthony Nolan and will be doing the same next month when they take part in the London Marathon.

They have have already raised £3,816 towards their target of £5,500.
