Ladies raise £2,500 with retail therapy lunch

A CHARITY lunch raised almost £2,500 for Riverside Counselling Service in Henley.

About 40 women attended the event at the French Horn restaurant in Sonning. They enjoyed a morning of shopping courtesy of Sarah Louise West, Pauline Farran of Greige, and Sarah Booth jewellery.

The two-course lunch was served in the river dining room. The guest speaker was Teresa Johnstone, chairman of trustees at Riverside, who is a psychodynamic therapist.

Silent auction prizes were provided by the Henley Festival and antiques expert Jonty Hearnden, of the Third Sector Gallery in Newtown Road, Henley. Table flowers were provided by Annie Abbey Quinn.

Fund-raiser Emma Lerche-Thomsen thanked Michael Emmanuel, owner of the French Horn, for hosting the event.
