Synchronised swimmers raise money for Sport Relief

SWIMMERS showed off their underwater acrobatics in aid of Sport Relief.

Members of the Henley Synchronised Swimming Club performed a special routine in the swimming pool at the Oratory Prep School in Goring Heath.

Head coach Karen Bennett said: “We were thrilled to get involved and it was fun trying to come up with a suitable routine.” The Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Games take place from today (Friday) until Sunday. Among the events is a Sport Relief Mile at Clayfield Copse in Emmer Green on Sunday in which hundreds of people are expected to take part. The event has been organised by Caversham AFC and there will be refreshments, sports massage and entertainment for the whole family. For more information, visit www.sportrelief.com

MORE than £4,000 has been handed out to charities and community groups in Henley.

The town council’s finance strategy and management committee approved 17 applications for grants.
