Nurse from Henley on charity walk

A NURSE from Henley is to walk along the Inca Trail in Peru to fund a new ambulance for the hospital where she works.

Lisa Gosby, 26, who grew up in King James Way and now lives in Southampton, will trek 26 miles over four days to reach Machu Picchu, setting off on Monday. She has already raised £1,500.

The money will go towards the ambulance for the paediatric intensive care unit at Southampton General Hospital which transports children from a wide area, including Oxfordshire.

Miss Gosby said: “I want to raise awareness of the large area that the unit covers as many people will be unaware of this, as I was until I began working there.”
