Charity support group needs younger helpers

AN Oxfam support group is appealing for new, younger members.

The Chiltern villages group was founded in 1985 and since then has raised between £120,000 and £130,000 for the charity.

Chairwoman Elizabeth Phelps, 78, who lives in Goring Heath, said there were currently 10 committee members.

She said: “Our problem is that we’re all getting a bit older and we’re finding it quite difficult.

“Events have become fewer and fewer as we’ve become older so we’re aren’t making as much money.
