Walkers raise £1,600 in charity walk round village

ABOUT 60 people raised £1,600 for charity by taking part in the second annual Ewelme 10km Walk.

Money raised from the event will be shared between the Cystic Fibrosis Trust and hospice Helen and Douglas House. It was organised by Sally Dance of Salstix Nordic Walking and two friends — Anne Lawrence and Louise Summerley.

Mrs Dance said: “It was a beautiful walk with three rather large hills and lots of amazing views.

“It was fantastic seeing so many families enjoying the walk, especially watching how easily the children sprang up the hills.” The route started and finished in the village.

A barbecue was provided by Jeff and Elaine Wood who opened their house and garden to the walkers.
