Fashion show for Katie Piper Foundation

A CHARITY fashion show will be held at Queen Anne’s School in Caversham on Tuesday.

The event has been organised by lower-sixth form students at the independent girls’ school and the proceeds will be donated to the Katie Piper Foundation, which helps people with burns and scars to reconnect with their lives and their communities.

Pupils from Reading School and Queen Anne’s will be modelling clothes donated by local businesses. There will be music from Queen Anne’s saxophone group Saxaholics and dancing by the school’s Twilight Dance Company.

Dr Valerie Vincent, director of sixth form, said: “Our students have put in a tremendous amount of work and effort to organise the event, which promises to showcase the best of local fashion and offer fun for all the family.”

The event will be opened by Katie Piper, the author, TV presenter and charity campaigner who rebuilt her life after a brutal attack in 2008 left her badly scarred.

The fashion show will be compered by former pupil Maddison Brudenell, 20, who now works as a model.

The show is at the school in Henley Road and will begin at 7pm. Tickets cost £15 each (under 18s £10) or £35 for a family ticket for two adults and two children. The ticket price includes a complimentary drink, canapés and a goody bag containing toiletries, make-up and magazines.
