Pub cyclists present £2,000 cheque for skate park

CYCLISTS who rode from Sonning Common to Brighton have presented a cheque for more than £2,000 to the village skate park project.

A team of regulars from the Butcher’s Arms pub in Blounts Court Road completed the 89-mile challenge in April.

Robert Blues, who runs the pub with his wife Ellie, was joined by Russell King, Vincent Panel, Nicola Thomas, Chris Buckett, Scott Jackson, Peter Sheen, Tom Franklin, Anna Were and Toby Williams.

The team presented the £2,145 cheque to parish councillor Carole Lewis, who chairs the skate park committee, at the pub.

Cllr Lewis said: “They have obviously worked exceedingly hard, both in terms of fund-raising and the physical effort involved.
