Village offered access to school defibrillator

A DEFIBRILLATOR available to the community will be installed in Benson next month.

The £2,000 lifesaving device will be located outside the entrance to Benson Primary School in Oxford Road.

It is being supplied by the Hand on Heart charity and Benson Parish Council has agreed to pay up to £650 for a secure wall-mounted cabinet in which to store it.

The school applied to the charity for the automated defibrillator with the help of parent-governor Sarah Vaccari.

She said: “We were thrilled to be successful. Once we received the equipment we decided that we wanted the whole community to have access to it and that’s when we approached the parish council.”
