Mayor’s good reason to join charity walk

THREE walks will be held in Henley to raise money for a multiple sclerosis charity.

The Walking for MileS event will take place on Sunday, September 21, starting and finishing at the River and Rowing Museum.

Participants will be raising funds for the Berkshire MS Therapy Centre in Reading, which celebrated its 30th anniversary last month.

There will be a half marathon walk going through the Hambleden Valley before returning to the museum, a six-mile walk taking in Aston and the Thames and a wheelchair-friendly walk to Marsh Lock, which is popular with people with walking difficulties and young children. All three walks will be marshalled.

Henley Mayor and Mayoress Martin and Glynnis Akehurst will be at the start.
