Prostate cancer test day

A PROSTATE cancer awareness event is to be held at Henley Rugby Club.

It will be free to all men over the age of 50 and will involve a five-minute presentation by an urologist and a blood test.

The screening involves the taking of a blood sample by trained phlebotomists which is sent to a hospital laboratory for analysis.

Consultant urologist Dr David Baxter Smith will review the test results and every person tested will then receive a letter from him with advice.

The event, which will be on September 17 from 4pm to 9pm, has been organised by Henley Lions Club.
