Nursery’s charity fun day

A CHARITY fun day will be held in Henley today (Friday) to raise money for life-saving treatment for a man suffering from a brain tumour.

Treetops Nursery in the Centenary Business Park, near the station, will host the event for 24-year-old father-of-one Matt Rackley, from Maidenhead, who was diagnosed in 2012.

About £165,000 has already been raised for his treatment but more is needed to pay for his after care.

Mr Rackley’s tumour is on his brain stem so is inoperable but his family hope he will be able to have proton therapy treatment, where a single ray of radiation is targeted at the cancerous area. The treatment is available in America and the Czech Republic.

Mr Rackley’s brother Chris, 23, said: “It will definitely give him a better and longer life.”
