Sisters to walk all night for cancer charity

TWO sisters will take part in a night-time walking marathon in memory of their grandmother.

Laura Donovan, 38, from Sonning Common, and 30-year-old Louise Davies will walk 26 miles through London next Saturday (September 27).

They are raising money for Cancer Research UK in memory of Joy Wells, who died of ovarian cancer when they were children.

The pair have already raised more than half their £250 target by holding a cake sale at Sonning Common village hall.

Mrs Donovan, who lives in Ashford Avenue and works at Bishopswood School in the village, said: “We held the cake sale to raise a bit of extra money before the walk and made £140, which we are delighted with.”
