THE South Oxfordshire Mencap Society’s summer barbecue was held at Upper Thames Rowing Club in Henley.
About 40 clients and their families attended the event together with Henley Mayor and Mayoress Martin and Glynnis Akehurst. Music was provided by the Ken Fitt Ensemble, while the Henley Lions manned the barbecue. There was a raffle, games and stalls.
Paul Barrett, chairman of the society, said: “It was a delightful and relaxing afternoon. We are really grateful to the rowing club for allowing us to use their splendid premises on the river.
“We always pray for good weather and we don’t always get it but we couldn’t have asked for a nicer day.”
