Jazz night for charity

A JAZZ concert is to be held at Goring village hall to raise money for the Epilepsy Society.

Derek Nash, saxophonist for the Jools Holland Rhythm and Blues Orchestra, will perform with the orchestra’s singer Louise Marshall and a backing band.

The former British Jazz Award winner has previously played at the venue with his band Sax Appeal.

The event has been organised by Susan Condie, whose husband Clive went to school with the musician and formed a band with him.

The mother-of-two suffers from ictal asystole, a rare form of epilepsy in which the brain stops telling the heart to beat. The condition resulted from a meningitis attack 10 years ago.
