Vicar jokes with Home Secretary at fun run

MORE than 300 people took part in the third annual charity family fun run at the Piggott School in Wargrave on Sunday.

The event, which is run by the Twyford Village Partnership, featured races for every age group, including a 100-yard pre-school “toddle” and one-mile parents’ race.

Home Secretary and Maidenhead MP Theresa May watched some of the races and presented the prizes.

The main race was won by Andy Loring, 38, from Twyford, in a time of five minutes and 31 seconds. Neil Barber, 45, from Charvil, was second and Richard Stabberton-Coe, 42, from Twyford, was third.

In last place was Simon Howard, vicar of St Mary’s Church in Twyford.
