Badgemore ladies raise £2.3k for charity

LADIES at Badgemore Park Golf Club have raised £2,300 to buy a horse for the Wyfold Riding for the Disabled charity.

Moira Lawrie, this year’s lady captain, decided to raise money for the charity during her year in office following a visit.

Eccles is currently being trained and will soon have passed the necessary test to qualify him to be a horse for disabled riders.

All the horses and ponies are chosen for their temperament. Some are on loan or gifted but most are owned by the charity.

It receives no state aid or other funding and is entirely dependent on donations and fundraising events. Apart from the yard manager, the charity is run by unpaid volunteer helpers.
