Charities win appeal over blue badges

TWO charities which transport disabled people have won their fight for new blue badges.

Volunteers at the Henley and District Handibus and FISH Volunteer Centre in Sonning Common were left dismayed after their applications to Oxfordshire County Council were refused.

They both appealed and have now been told they can have the badges.

Both charities criticised the council for the inconvenience caused and complained that they had not received an apology.

The Henley charity needs the badge for its new £60,000 minibus while FISH had feared the use of its bus, which it bought in February at a cost of £46,000, would be limited.
