Charity says switch of Starlight Hike venue worked

ALMOST 100 people took part in a sponsored 10km walk in aid of Sue Ryder on Saturday.

The Starlight Hike began at the charity’s hospice in Nettlebed and followed a circular route through the woods around Highmoor. There was also a 3km route for younger children and less experienced walkers.

Each participant was given free flapjacks, apples, sweets and bottles of water.

Some wore fancy dress with costumes including animals and characters from Scooby Doo.

Before setting off, the walkers took part in a warm-up session with salsa teacher Jennifer Benavidez, from Shiplake, that included dance routines, clapping and shaking of hips.
