Local shop supports 'Wear it Pink' campaign

A WOMEN’S clothes shop in Henley raised more than £100 for charity.

Barbara Easton in Duke Street took part in Wear it Pink, a national initiative in aid of the Breast Cancer Campaign. Owner Barbara Easton and staff Denise Smith and Venetia Anderson wore pink and the shop was filled with pink roses.

Customers were treated to pink fizz and pink sweets and chocolates in exchange for a donation. Mrs Easton, who also owns a branch in Wokingham, said: “We raised over £100 and were very pleased with that. We asked people for donations of £1.50 but many were giving £5, which was really good. We do fashion shows for charities regularly but we have never done anything in the shop before. Our customers thought it was a nice idea.”

She was holding an identical event at the Wokingham shop today (Friday).
