A CHARITY that promotes safer cycling among children is organising a golf day to raise funds.

The event will be held at Badgemore Golf Club in Henley on March 22 and will involve teams of four. Teams cost £200 or golfers can register as individuals for £50 and be put into a team.

The proceeds will go to the Reading-based Bicycle Helmet Initiative Trust.

The trust was founded in 1998 by a paediatric nurse at the Royal Berkshire Hospital to reduce the number of children who are killed and seriously injured in cycling accidents by promoting the use of cycle helmets, high- visibility clothing, bike lights and cycle training.

For more information or to register a team, call 0118 958 3585 or email bhit@dial.pipex.com
