VOLUNTEERS are needed to join Sue Ryder’s latest fund-raising scheme.
The charity has once again renamed the month of February “Febru-hairy” and is challenging people to come up with hair-themed ideas to raise money for its hospice in Nettlebed.
Examples could be a sponsored moustache or beard grow, wearing a wig for a day, dyeing your hair and having your legs waxed.
Regional fund-raiser Wendy Murgatroyd said: “Last year’s support for the campaign was fantastic and we had people doing all sorts of amazing things with their hair.
“We had a man shave his head, beard and moustache which he had had for more than 40 years and lots of men were brave enough to get their legs waxed.
“We also had lots of schools holding crazy hair days and hairdressers holding events in their salons. It was fantastic to see people of all ages getting involved and supporting Sue Ryder’s vital work.
“It is a really fun campaign to be part of and there are so many ways to take part. You could do something for the whole month or just one day. It just has to involve hair.”
