LEE HATHAWAY will take part in the Reading half marathon on Sunday to raise money for Sue Ryder.

The 39-year-old from Woodcote is using the event as practice for the Challenge Henley triathlon on Sunday, September 8.

Mr Hathaway, who owns the franchise of Forresters Hair Salon in Sonning Common, said: ?I cannot run to save my life and when I did last year?s Challenge Henley it was the run that let me down. I could not finish it and was in a bad state.

?I am very determined to do it this time because I will hit 40 this year and it is such a brilliant event.

?I go running most days and the Reading half marathon has been something to work to. After that, I will up the training for Challenge Henley.?

Mr Hathaway added: ?Sue Ryder is a great cause. It is a good charity and a lot clients have known people there.?
