STAFF from the Co-operative shop in Watlington raised £1,550 for the Teenage Cancer Trust during a fund-raising weekend.

Assistant manager Hazel Davies and supervisor Lucy Baker had up to 1ft cut off their hair so that it could be made into wigs. Other members of staff wore fancy dress and there was a bake sale. Manager Andy Bretherton said: “I think fund-raising events like this are good for the community and morale and raise money for a charity that is always in need of help.”

The Teenage Cancer Trust is the Co-operative’s chosen charity for the year.
