A MAN raised £1,400 for charity by running a half marathon in memory of his sister.

A MAN raised £1,400 for charity by running a half marathon in memory of his sister.

Steven Armitage, 22, of Shiplake Bottom, Peppard, finished the race in Cambridge last month in 54 minutes and will take part in the London Marathon on April 21.

He is raising money for Diabetes UK after his sister Claire, 27, died at her home in February. An inquest is due to be held.

Mrs Armitage, a brownies leader from Caversham Park Village, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when she was 15.
