£20 for brick to save maze

WHITCHURCH residents have been urged to contribute to the restoration of the village’s maze.

WHITCHURCH residents have been urged to contribute to the restoration of the village’s maze.

The parish council is renovating the landmark off Hardwick Road as some of its paving has been damaged by frost.

For £20, current or former residents can have their name or a loved one’s name engraved on a replacement brick, which will be frost-resistant.

The maze, which comprises six paved rings with a sundial in the centre, was opened in July 2004.

It was built by volunteers, who laid more than 2,000 bricks and planted a mix of thyme and flowers.
