£4,000 in donations

GORING, Woodcote and District Lions Club has donated £4,000 to charities and community causes.

GORING, Woodcote and District Lions Club has donated £4,000 to charities and community causes.

The money came from the proceeds of the annual Goring 10km run in January, which the club organises.

The Lions’ biggest donation was £750 to the Footsteps disabled children’s centre in Dorchester.

They gave two supermarket trolleys’ worth of food to the Wallingford Food Bank and £700 to Wyfold Riding for the Disabled for a new riding arena.

Smaller donations were made to scout, cub and guide groups and Goring and Woodcote primary schools and local branches of Age UK.
