THE grounds of Queen Anne’s School in Caversham will be used for this year’s Big Sleep Out on August 30.

A total of 100 people will sleep out to raise awareness and funds for homeless people in Reading. Julia Harrington, headmistress of the independent girls’ school, said: “Not only will the event be raising money for a very worthwhile cause, it will also help educate our girls and the public about how it feels to be homeless.” The Big Sleep Out is organised by Launchpad Reading, a charity which helps vulnerable and disadvantaged people by providing supported housing, vocational training and drug and alcohol and mental health counselling.
