A BOOT fair held in Wargrave on Sunday raised £1,575 for the RNLI.

Hundreds of people attended the event at the Piggott School in Twyford Road.

Michael Porter, honorary chairman of the Wargrave, Twyford and District branch of the charity, said: “We are very grateful to all those who came along to buy, sell and help with the running of the event.

“It went especially well compared with last year when we were blasted by bad weather. We had to cancel the first date, then it rained on the day we had rescheduled for.

“The weather was definitely kinder this year.”
