THE deputy speaker of the House of Lords passed through Henley this week on a 500-mile charity trek.
Michael Bates, 52, left Downing Street on Saturday on his way to Enniskillen in Northern Ireland.
On Wednesday, he walked through Market Place and up Fair Mile.
He hopes to complete the walk in 45 days and raise more than £25,000 for Save the Children.
Lord Bates wants to help Syria’s child refugees by providing emergency shelter, food, clothing and medication. To follow his progress, visit www.walkforsyrias children.org
