Singers help fund youth centre roof repair

THE Henley Concert Singers have donated £400 towards the cost of repairs to the roof of the porch at Henley

THE Henley Concert Singers have donated £400 towards the cost of repairs to the roof of the porch at Henley Youth Centre.

Work to resurface the roof to stop water leaking into the porch when it rains began on Saturday. It will cost about £3,000. The singers raised their donation money with a concert at Rotherfield Greys village hall in June.

There was a range of performances including solos, duets and trios while Chris Pritchett performed a series of humorous monologues. The group has been putting on charity concerts for 37 years and has raised more than £50,000 for local charities. Sarah Fulton-Urry, one of the singers, said: “It’s a good feeling to contribute to the community.”

The porch has leaked since the roof lead was stolen.
