SPONSORED walkers are needed to take part in the Walking for MileS event in Henley on Sunday, September 15.

The fourth annual event is in aid of the Berkshire MS Therapy Centre in Reading and the Henley MS support group at Brunner Hall.

Anyone can take part in one of the three walks, which all begin at the River and Rowing Museum.

The half marathon walk is for those wanting a serious challenge. This goes to Aston and over the Thames into the Hambleden Valley and then back into Henley via Fair Mile. Walkers set off between 9.30am and 10am.

The six-mile stroll includes part of the half marathon course as far as Aston before heading back along the Thames Path to Henley.Registration is from 10am to 11am.

A shorter walk goes to Marsh Lock and is designed for people with walking difficulties or in a wheelchair.

Afterwards, there will be tea and cake in the museum, where participants will receive half price entry to its exhibitions.

Therapist Celine Samson has volunteered to massage walkers on their return for a donation to the charity.

You can sign up for a walk at www.bmstc.org/events.aspx or call 0118 901 6000. The entry fee is £10 for the half marathon and six-mile stroll and £5 for the Marsh Lock walk. All walks are fully marshalled with water stations on the longer two.

The MS Therapy Centre is a registered charity that provides therapies, information and support for people with multiple sclerosis and their families in Berkshire and Oxfordshire.
