Artist helps brighten up children’s outlook

IF you didn’t manage to attend the open day at the Chiltern Centre for disabled children in Henley on Saturday

IF you didn’t manage to attend the open day at the Chiltern Centre for disabled children in Henley on Saturday you won’t have seen this refurbished artwork.

Art student Aubrei Chen has been getting his hands dirty repainting the sea mural with the help of members of staff from energy firm BG Group in Reading.

As the Henley Standard reported last week, the volunteers spent a day renovating the centre as part of a team-building exercise.

Mr Chen, a former Shiplake College pupil who is now studying game art design at Norwich University decided on the underwater theme for the mural because he thought fish would appeal to the children at the centre.

Mr Chen, whose family lives near Wallingford, named the boat in the mural BGA after his helpers. What nice gestures all round.
