Debbie Flood, captain of Leander Club: Why I wear a poppy

I WEAR a poppy to show my respect for both the fallen soldiers who lost their lives for our country and for the brave servicemen and women currently serving or who have served in our forces.

I WEAR a poppy to show my respect for both the fallen soldiers who lost their lives for our country and for the brave servicemen and women currently serving or who have served in our forces.

The poppy sales help many soldiers and their families through financial, social and emotional difficulties as well as very practical support and advice.

The poppy is a great visual acknowledgement in our communities of the respect and remembrance we have of people who will not be left or forgotten.
