IN 1919, November 11 was the chosen day each year when we would remember all those who had died in the Great War.

IN 1919, November 11 was the chosen day each year when we would remember all those who had died in the Great War.

Almost 100 years later, we stay silent at 11am on this day to remember the millions of people killed, not only in that war but in subsequent wars around the world.

As the years pass, it is very important that we continue to remember and, by wearing a simple red poppy, this shows that we have not forgotten those who gave their lives for our freedom.
