Halloween fun raises money for charity

A HAIR salon in Woodcote raised £240 by hosting a charity halloween party.

A HAIR salon in Woodcote raised £240 by hosting a charity halloween party.

Staff at Kimberley?s Hair Studio in Wood Green wore spooky costumes and handed out sweets to children.

The salon stayed opened late and was decorated with cobwebs, a mock graveyard, pumpkins and posters of witches and monsters.

In the evening, all the salon lights were switched off except at the cutting chairs. Youngsters were awarded extra sweets for fishing rubber spiders from bowls of spaghetti and jelly with their hands. Customers were invited to guess the name of a witch for a prize of £130 in salon vouchers.

Owner Kim Paxford donated the proceeds to the Goring and Woodcote medical practice, which cared for her grandfather Norman Treadwell before his death in August. She said: ?We must have had about 80 to 100 kids visit over the day. It was non-stop.?
