Why I wear a poppy

I WEAR a poppy because to me it symbolises the huge sacrifices that millions of men and women in this country made, and still make, so that we can all enjoy the freedoms we so often take for granted.

It’s easy sometimes to forget that the reason we live in peace, and enjoy security and prosperity, is entirely down to the fact that members of the armed forces have given their lives fighting wars, often in far-flung places miles from home, to make that possible, and the poppy serves as a timely reminder of that.

Also, in the end, It’s a good way of showing the families of those who’ve lost loved ones to such a noble cause that I, and my family, will always hugely appreciate what they’ve done.
