Why I wear a poppy

“MY father served in the Royal Navy during the war; he was on minesweepers.

The stories he told me as a child enlightened me to the horrors of war.

The struggle to survive, the loss of many friends and family and those who suffered burns and loss of limbs outlined to me the importance of the poppy.

To me, the poppy is a reflection of time, bringing us all together to remember and mourn all those who fought and are still fighting to keep our world a safer and better place. The Royal British Legion helps all those in need.”
