Why I wear a poppy

THE annual Poppy Appeal and Remembrance Sunday are important events for our country, recognising the great sacrifices and hardships suffered by previous generations in two World Wars and in countless other battlegrounds around the world.

I wear the poppy to show, in a very small but important way, that I really appreciate the debt that we owe to all the fallen and to their families — they have secured our freedom and our safety — we are incredibly lucky for what they have done.
