Tesco staff cycle to Lapland for a good cause

STAFF at Tesco in Henley cycled the distance to Lapland to raise money for charity.

STAFF at Tesco in Henley cycled the distance to Lapland to raise money for charity.

More than 50 employees at the Reading Road store took turns on cycling machines and covered more than 2,000 miles between Friday and Sunday (December 6 and 8) to raise the money for its partner charity Diabetes UK.

Store manager Rory Lumm was sponsored £300 to ride 55 miles in five hours on Friday.

He said: “My back was killing me but it was a great achuievement. I burned 2,000 calories and lost three pounds.

“The staff got involved and it was nice to get into the Christmas spirit while raising some money for a good cause.”

Staff from LA Fitness also helped to cover the distance.
