Campaign launched to help care home residents vote

A CAMPAIGN to help care home residents vote in May’s General Election has been launched.

A CAMPAIGN to help care home residents vote in May’s General Election has been launched.

The Orders of St John Care Trust, which runs Chiltern End care home in Greys Road, has designed the Your Vote Counts campaign to coincide with national voter registration day yesterday.

It is working with the Electoral Commission to make sure all residents are properly registered before the April deadline.

The trust will also create voting champions in each care home who will encourage residents to vote.

It hopes to encourage elderly residents of its homes to vote in the election by stressing how many key issues are related to the way older people are cared for.
