A CHARITY street collection in Henley organised by the Gainsborough Residents’ Association raised more than £200.

A CHARITY street collection in Henley organised by the Gainsborough Residents’ Association raised more than £200.

Volunteers went out with tins and there was a collection box at the Saracen’s Head pub in Greys Road.

The proceeds were presented in the form of a cheque to Helen and Douglas House outside the charity’s shop in Duke Street.

Janet Carruzzo, fund-raiser for the charity, said: “We want to say a massive thank-you to the residents’ association for raising this fantastic amount of money, which will help our families living in the Henley area.“

The association also collected toys to donate to children at the hospice, while Waitrose in Bell Street provided chocolate and biscuits for staff.
