Good year for Legion

THE Henley and Peppard branch of the Royal British Legion raised more than £40,000 last year.

THE Henley and Peppard branch of the Royal British Legion raised more than £40,000 last year.

One of the biggest fund-raising events was the Poppy Appeal concert featuring the Aliquando Choir at St Mary’s Church in Henley in November, which raised £6,000.

Nearly 30 new members have joined the branch over the last two years, bringing the total membership to more than 100.

Martin Goodier is the new branch treasurer after Anne Evans stepped down after two-and-a-half years in the role. She will remain on the committee.
