SIX students at Gillotts School in Henley took part in a 12-mile walk from Henley town hall to Watlington to raise money to help those involved in the Asian tsunami. The year eight students persuaded friends and family to sponsor them and raised £455.

The Henley Pilots, 12 children aged nine to 11, served parents and helpers during a Spanish-themed evening which raised more than £200 towards a playchute for the Chiltern Centre for disabled children. The menu included tapas, ensalada and sangria

After the hard-hitting safety campaign aimed at young drivers, there was a 50 per cent drop in young driver deaths on the road. Experts from the Oxfordshire Fire Service and the road safety team launched the For My Girlfriend campaign with help from paramedics from the Oxfordshire Ambulance NHS Trust.
